Planning a Baby Shower: Games?

Throwing a party? Every party has to have a game right? Well, I’m not a fan of most party games. I’m a very shy person naturally so it was really hard for me to plan. I searched Pinterest FOREVER to find a game that I felt comfortable planning AND playing.

I came across a game called ‘My Water Broke’ and loved it! You take plastic babies and freeze them in an ice cube tray. When everyone arrives at the party, you fill their drinks and then each person gets a baby ice cube in their drink and the first person whose baby breaks free from the ice cube yells “MY WATER BROKE!” and they win:-).

I went to Trader Joes and bought seven types of sparkling juice (pomegranate, apple, clementine, blueberry, limeade, blood orange, an lemonade). Hooray for fun drink options! Now it’s time to figure out these ice cube babies.

Did you know that plastic babies float? Well, that poses a problem when you want them to be submerged in an ice cube. To fix that, I filled the ice cube tray 1/2 full with 7up, placed the babies in the tray, froze them, them filled the remainder of the tray with 7up and froze it again.

I was thrilled that this game went really well. The game took about an hour till the babies broke free and the guest of honor actually won!

This was a great game and VERY EASY!

Hi! My name is Dominique and I’m lucky enough to be the wife to my True Love and mother to a little girl and a little boy. I grew up in the Midwest but have loved living in NC, our new home.

I’m actually an Industrial Engineer by schooling, but am now a domestic engineer(Stay-at-home-Mom) and feel very blessed to have this job.

I have always loved the challenge in making the most of things…whether it’s figuring out that a filing cabinet , a $10 piece of countertop and a few scraps of wood can be turned into a desk, that a curtain sheer, some ribbon, and a square piece of fabric can be transformed into an Elsa-like dress, or how to provide an interesting lunch for my little girl who is in a peanut free classroom. I love to figure things out and to create.

I hope you enjoy reading my posts. I hope that my posts will inspire you to create. I hope that with my posts you will see that They Will Love Your Effort, whether things turn our perfect or not;-)
