Why Not A Fancy Cup?

Do you have any fun/fancy glasses? When I got married, we received all sorts of fun entertaining items, and a lot of them were glasses.

To be honest, we are lucky if we entertain people once a month these days.

Our two children are pretty entertaining though:-)

So, when I was growing up, for Thanksgiving it would be a big treat to get Welches Sparkling Grape Juice. When I was pregnant with my daughter I loved how drinking sparkling grape juice made me feel fancy.

Fast forward to today…I keep a cabinet stocked full of various Trader Joes Sparkling juices(blueberry, clementine, blood orange, apple, and pomegranate). They are 100% juice and 100% tasty!!!! Tonight we had Trader Joes Sparkling Blueberry Juice with our dinner as a fun Saturday night treat.

Well, when you have a fun treat, go big or go home, right?

We had decided a while ago that fun dishes are only fun if you actually use them. If they get broken in use, at least they were being used.

My daughter’s favorite glass is a small wine tasting glass that I had gotten years and years ago. It only holds about a 1/2 cup of liquid and it fits perfectly in her hand.

She was thrilled when we pulled out her special juice glass tonight. My son doesn’t get to use a fancy stem glass yet, only plastic stem glasses, but they feel and act so grown up when given the responsibility.

I could have just served our sparkling juice in regular glasses tonight, but why not make an ordinary meal have a fun twist. Especially if it only means having to wash one extra dish:-)

Hi! My name is Dominique and I’m lucky enough to be the wife to my True Love and mother to a little girl and a little boy. I grew up in the Midwest but have loved living in NC, our new home.

I’m actually an Industrial Engineer by schooling, but am now a domestic engineer(Stay-at-home-Mom) and feel very blessed to have this job.

I have always loved the challenge in making the most of things…whether it’s figuring out that a filing cabinet , a $10 piece of countertop and a few scraps of wood can be turned into a desk, that a curtain sheer, some ribbon, and a square piece of fabric can be transformed into an Elsa-like dress, or how to provide an interesting lunch for my little girl who is in a peanut free classroom. I love to figure things out and to create.

I hope you enjoy reading my posts. I hope that my posts will inspire you to create. I hope that with my posts you will see that They Will Love Your Effort, whether things turn our perfect or not;-)
