Why NOT something fun? A different type of birthday present:-)

My daughter’s birthday is coming up and we had been racking our brains with what to get her.

One day, while we were going through emails together(both my kids and I), we received an email from amazon.com with fun technology and it had a picture of the Instax camera. A cool looking version of the old Polaroid cameras from back in the day, a camera that instantly printed your picture after taking it. The film would literally develop as you watched and you’d have to see if someone blinked, made a funny face, etc.

My daughter was so intrigued by the concept of the old Polaroid cameras. When I was little, I remember at family gatherings, all of us kids anxiously sitting next to the picture that was jus taken waiting to be the first to glimpse at what the camera caught. So needless to say, we all agreed that it was really cool!

Birthday shopping can be overwhelming. I love looking at all the toys, but then the after thought becomes, will she like it, and for how long.

My daughter really loves crafty stuff…so after a lot of thinking we decided that the instax camera would be perfect.

Here is a link to the camera;

These cameras instantly print credit card sized pictures. You also have the option to purchase film that already has fun frames on it(Disney, prints, etc).

We purchased the camera, a case, and a bulk package of film.

We are also going to get her a photo album from Dollar Tree with a package of note cards and tape.

She will be able to take pictures, tape it onto the notecard, and instantly write about it. Then she can put it into her album right then!

I am so excited because from now on, guess what…for every holiday when we are looking for something small and fun to give, we will give her film. I cannot wait to see what she thinks is interesting and the stories that she will build around the pictures.

Yes, there is a chance that she will blow through the film…HOWEVER…that is the same chance that we could get her a you and she only be interested in it for a few days.

We hope that this will continue to foster her creativity<3

Remember…They Will Love Your Effort<3

  1. Yes!!!! In fact, she takes it with her everywhere and LOVES to educate all of her friends about how to take a ‘film’ picture…and it’s so funny when the picture prints, because her friends are like “It’s completely WHITE!!!!” and my daughter says “It’s like MAGIC! You have to wait a few minutes and the picture will appear!” So COMPLETELY AWESOME<3!!!!
