Happy Mothers Day…Murphy’s Law Edition

I am very blessed to be the mother of two amazing children.

As I sit here thinking about how my Mothers Day has gone, I giggle to myself. Yep. I giggle. I have learned to love my dear friend Murphy and the law that he has imparted to us all! Lol!

When I became a mother, I learned that the best plan is to have a back up plan and to love the moment that you’re in:-).

My husband is caring and considerate. He is my true partner. Well, this weekend was taken down by strep:-(. Boo. Selfish translation – my secret dream of sleeping in was dashed away. I changed that dream of sleeping in to then the thought of donuts:-). When my kids woke up at 7 a.m. we got to snuggle for a while then headed to the donut shop and had fun looking to the colorful display of edible artistry:-). Luckily the donut shop also had great coffee…(of course right?)…because I was totally out at home.

After breakfast and a relaxing morning, I packed the kids up and headed to Costco. I love how excited my kids get when we go there. I needed some essentials and a few bonus things(yay Pita chips being on sale!!!), and the best part is when we pull into the parking lot. As I enter the parking lot, I hear two sweet voices saying “Yay yay samples!!! Yay yay samples!” Seriously so adorable!!!

I got great deals on everything and after we finished shopping, we grabbed a five star lunch…a hotdog combo and a smoothie. My daughter actually orders for us. We were even lucky enough to a seat under an umbrella:-). My son was thrilled about that.

We got home and had a beautiful afternoon playing outside…

Yes, that was a picture of my son riding his bike in a Spider-man costume<3.

My kids and I then tried to organize our playroom, which, if any of you have 2 year olds, you know how well that can go…on the bright side, although no organizing took place, my kids had a blast:-)

So after trying to be productive, I was tired, I had been dreaming of having a really nice meal from my favorite local restaurant, and while my husband was sick, we still wanted to have a nice family dinner. I get all excited about my favorite things that I'm going to order and call…two problems…#1 They are only offering a limited menu…#2 They are not offering take out:-(.

Well, I made the most of it and ended up making omelets with fresh veggies and ham. They were delicious!

My whole family had a great time unwinding as we got the kids ready for bed and to my surprise both if my kids were asleep by8:-).

Ended up being a great day:-). Make the most of every day…after all…it is the(a) present:-). Things might not always go as you plan, but that doesn't mean you can't make the most of it.

Remember…They Will Love Your Effort<3

Hi! My name is Dominique and I’m lucky enough to be the wife to my True Love and mother to a little girl and a little boy. I grew up in the Midwest but have loved living in NC, our new home.

I’m actually an Industrial Engineer by schooling, but am now a domestic engineer(Stay-at-home-Mom) and feel very blessed to have this job.

I have always loved the challenge in making the most of things…whether it’s figuring out that a filing cabinet , a $10 piece of countertop and a few scraps of wood can be turned into a desk, that a curtain sheer, some ribbon, and a square piece of fabric can be transformed into an Elsa-like dress, or how to provide an interesting lunch for my little girl who is in a peanut free classroom. I love to figure things out and to create.

I hope you enjoy reading my posts. I hope that my posts will inspire you to create. I hope that with my posts you will see that They Will Love Your Effort, whether things turn our perfect or not;-)
