Instax Camera for 6 year old INSPIRES!

That’s my daughter using her Instax Mini 8 camera that we bought her for her 6th birthday recently.

Here is a link to it on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B009ZM9R4O/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1400761666&sr=8-1

My husband and I were torn on whether or not such a camera(one that prints like the old school Polaroid camera’s) was a good idea or not.

We though that in theory, she would love taking pictures and then in turn writing about the pictures. That was all in theory. Just like how thousands of parents paid hundreds of dollars for hot selling expensive toys only for them to not even be taken out of their boxes.

Recently our daughter turned 6 and we gave her the Instax mini 8 camera. We could not be more thrilled with the passion for writing and creativity that it has inspired.

That picture is of our daughter composing her shot. Is it just a water bottle in front of a toy, yes, but to her it’s so much more.

Picture on right: I got a bouquet.

She is taking her own pictures and captioning them.

These books she is making will be cherished memories when she is older!

Is there a chance that she will blow through the packages of film…yes…however, the fact that the instant gratification is there…something tangible…is just amazing to her. Hello stocking stuffers and other random holidays that people love to give each other’s gift for! No more random pieces of stuff that I will dread finding a home for. Instead of buying $10 worth of that stuff, we’ll buy her film<3!

We thought outside the box for her birthday and I feel it paid off!

Hi! My name is Dominique and I’m lucky enough to be the wife to my True Love and mother to a little girl and a little boy. I grew up in the Midwest but have loved living in NC, our new home.

I’m actually an Industrial Engineer by schooling, but am now a domestic engineer(Stay-at-home-Mom) and feel very blessed to have this job.

I have always loved the challenge in making the most of things…whether it’s figuring out that a filing cabinet , a $10 piece of countertop and a few scraps of wood can be turned into a desk, that a curtain sheer, some ribbon, and a square piece of fabric can be transformed into an Elsa-like dress, or how to provide an interesting lunch for my little girl who is in a peanut free classroom. I love to figure things out and to create.

I hope you enjoy reading my posts. I hope that my posts will inspire you to create. I hope that with my posts you will see that They Will Love Your Effort, whether things turn our perfect or not;-)
