CD Players…Retro Cool Already?

20140621-235025-85825373.jpgThat is my daughter.  Totally immersed in her Taylor Swift CD.  What’s that she’s listening to it on?  That’s my Mother-In-Law’s old workout CD Player.  My daughter thinks it is just the COOLEST!  She also got a regular CD Player Boombox for her birthday from my in-laws:-)

I  had to laugh when I was explaining to my daughter about CD’s.  We actually have a record player too…GASP!  I KNOW!  But we do because I grew up LOVING Records<3  I use to listen to stories on record and read along.  I use to listen to stories on cassett tape and read along.  Now my daughter listens to stories on her iTouch and reads along…but man…she LOVES listening to stories on CD even better!  Being able to PHYSICALLY CHANGE something actually gives you a sense control!  I know…CRAZY Right?  Do you know how short stories on CD are?  The ones she has checked out from our local library average about 5 minutes.  Yes, every 5 minutes she physically changes it.  She tells her brother how COOL it is!  LOL!!!!

I guess her thinking a CD Player is cool fits right in alongside her loving her Instax Camera (Cool Polaroid type camera).

It’s just so amazing to think how far and how fast things have come!  Don’t ever forget to share things from your childhood with your kids!  You never know what this old technology will inspire!

Remember…They Will Love Your Effort<3

Hi! My name is Dominique and I'm lucky enough to be the wife to my True Love and mother to a little girl and a little boy. I grew up in the Midwest but have loved living in NC, our new home. I'm actually an Industrial Engineer by schooling, but am now a domestic engineer(Stay-at-home-Mom) and feel very blessed to have this job. I have always loved the challenge in making the most of things...whether it's figuring out that a filing cabinet , a $10 piece of countertop and a few scraps of wood can be turned into a desk, that a curtain sheer, some ribbon, and a square piece of fabric can be transformed into an Elsa-like dress, or how to provide an interesting lunch for my little girl who is in a peanut free classroom. I love to figure things out and to create. I hope you enjoy reading my posts. I hope that my posts will inspire you to create. I hope that with my posts you will see that They Will Love Your Effort, whether things turn our perfect or not;-)
