Busy Making Peg People

Ok…I’ll admit it….I love to create. I love to try new things. I find inspiration from sometimes some of the oddest of things. I love to daydream about how I can turn what I have into what it could potentially be.

I’ve been very busy preparing to be a vendor at a local event, our World Breastfeeding fundraiser event. I have a passion for painting…painting peg people…I might not be the best at it, but I love it. Seeing the joy on my children’s faces when they get a new one:-)

I love giving even more. I decided to follow in the footsteps of a dear friend of mine who uses her talent and passion for sewing to help others, to paint peg people and be able to donate them:-). I paint peg people and boxes(homes) and sell them. I make peg people inspired by things and characters that I love or think are just plain fun! For every peg person/box sold I make and donate a peg person/box to our local children’s hospital<3. It is an incredible feeling to be able to do something that I enjoy and at the same time I can give away and know that some sick or scared child will be comforted by these wonderful little surprises<3 I'll be back soon with another post, but thought I would give you a quick update as to why things are so quiet;-) Remember....They Will Love Your Effort<3 Here are some of my most favorite...A How To Train Your Dragon Inspired Set of Peg People and a BRAVE inspired set. I think painting mini scenes inside the boxes are so much fun! 20140807-155553-57353443.jpg

Hi! My name is Dominique and I’m lucky enough to be the wife to my True Love and mother to a little girl and a little boy. I grew up in the Midwest but have loved living in NC, our new home.

I’m actually an Industrial Engineer by schooling, but am now a domestic engineer(Stay-at-home-Mom) and feel very blessed to have this job.

I have always loved the challenge in making the most of things…whether it’s figuring out that a filing cabinet , a $10 piece of countertop and a few scraps of wood can be turned into a desk, that a curtain sheer, some ribbon, and a square piece of fabric can be transformed into an Elsa-like dress, or how to provide an interesting lunch for my little girl who is in a peanut free classroom. I love to figure things out and to create.

I hope you enjoy reading my posts. I hope that my posts will inspire you to create. I hope that with my posts you will see that They Will Love Your Effort, whether things turn our perfect or not;-)
