November: Being Thankful and Giving

November is my favorite month of the year.  I love fall and I love Thanksgiving.  I’ve experienced a ton of different Thanksgivings and my favorite part is that no matter how you celebrate it, or who you celebrate it with, you all come together and are thankful.  For me, the whole month is a reflection on being thankful and grateful for the situation that you are in, trials that you’ve overcome, and the strength that has been discovered in the journey.

I was recently contacted by a former classmate of mine.  We are still friends, but long distance.  I admire her work as a creator and artist…plus she was always pretty fun to be around.  She informed me about another person we both knew who recently had a baby.  This baby is facing a lot of medical issues.  She asked me if I could donate some of the peg people I made to the silent auction medical fundraiser that they are holding.  I didn’t hesitate to say yes.  As soon as I read the link about our mutual friend’s baby, I couldn’t help but have tears well up in my eyes.  Their baby’s story and fund site is listed below:

I am so grateful for my healthy children and pray that with science and miracles, this little one will be able to live a long and healthy life.

Here are the peg sets that I donated.  I pray that they bring a lot of needed funds to this little one.

Hi! My name is Dominique and I’m lucky enough to be the wife to my True Love and mother to a little girl and a little boy. I grew up in the Midwest but have loved living in NC, our new home.

I’m actually an Industrial Engineer by schooling, but am now a domestic engineer(Stay-at-home-Mom) and feel very blessed to have this job.

I have always loved the challenge in making the most of things…whether it’s figuring out that a filing cabinet , a $10 piece of countertop and a few scraps of wood can be turned into a desk, that a curtain sheer, some ribbon, and a square piece of fabric can be transformed into an Elsa-like dress, or how to provide an interesting lunch for my little girl who is in a peanut free classroom. I love to figure things out and to create.

I hope you enjoy reading my posts. I hope that my posts will inspire you to create. I hope that with my posts you will see that They Will Love Your Effort, whether things turn our perfect or not;-)
