DIY Fancy Hair Clips

As we prepare for my cousin’s upcoming wedding, I made a list:

  1. Clothes – CHECK!
  2. Shoes – CHECK!
  3. Accessories – Kind of…jewelry=CHECK…hair accessories = NOT YET

I had a favorite hair clip that was my go-to when it came time for pictures or special events.  Unfortunately, I let my daughter use it and it ended up going through the wash in her pocket and didn’t survive:-(. So as we prepared our wedding outfits, I started brainstorming how I was going to make new hair clips:-)

Luckily, at our local Joann Fabrics, I found this beautiful jeweled appliqué in the wedding section and clips in the beading section.

See how it’s one huge beaded piece?  Look for the tiny sections of it?  Look close…see the two ends…they’re perfect for two smaller hair clips and one big hair clip.

Simply follow the beading with sharp small scissors and cut out the pieces you like.  Then the just hot glue it to the clip.

Simple as that:-)

All in all this project took 10 minutes.  Mostly due to the fact that my hot glue gun needed to warm up:-)

My daughter and I cannot wait to wear these at my cousin’s wedding:-)

Hi! My name is Dominique and I'm lucky enough to be the wife to my True Love and mother to a little girl and a little boy. I grew up in the Midwest but have loved living in NC, our new home. I'm actually an Industrial Engineer by schooling, but am now a domestic engineer(Stay-at-home-Mom) and feel very blessed to have this job. I have always loved the challenge in making the most of things...whether it's figuring out that a filing cabinet , a $10 piece of countertop and a few scraps of wood can be turned into a desk, that a curtain sheer, some ribbon, and a square piece of fabric can be transformed into an Elsa-like dress, or how to provide an interesting lunch for my little girl who is in a peanut free classroom. I love to figure things out and to create. I hope you enjoy reading my posts. I hope that my posts will inspire you to create. I hope that with my posts you will see that They Will Love Your Effort, whether things turn our perfect or not;-)
